I remember when the current player level for CS was 90K at the peak, 8 years ago, or whenever it was before Source. Now CS:S and CS are at 129K when combined.

I assume that is just steam games? Other than CoD:MW2, it doesn't look like anything has really grabbed a lot of players. Makes your 'flavor of the month' comment seem all that much more true.
